Connor Leherbauer, Senior Planner, provided a presentation concerning an application made under Section 34 of the Ontario Heritage Act to demolish the Robert McLaughlin House at 195 Simcoe Street North.

Harrison Whilsmith, Planner A, provided a presentation concerning a request to demolish for the property located at 154 Bruce Street.

    That a 154 Bruce Street Working Group be created in order to address Section 4B of the Work Plan to provide comment on the Development Application; and,

    That the Working Group consist of three members of the Heritage Oshawa Committee; and,

    That Alan Willison, Robert Bell and Chris Lapa be appointed to the Working Group; and,

    That Alan Willison be appointed as Chair of the 154 Bruce Street Working Group.

The Chair of the Brochures Working Group provided a verbal report of the working groups activities advising that they are updating the brochures at this time and will report back at the June meeting.

The Chair of the Centennial Brochure Working Group provided a verbal report of the working groups activities for May 2023 stating that the working group is considering swag, and existing events to be enhanced in 2024 and will report further at the June meeting.

The Chair of the Heritage Oshawa Inventory and Register Working Group provided a verbal report of the working group's activities for May 2023 stating that they are working on building a database so all information and pictures are in one place.

    That Heritage Oshawa take part in the festivities on Canada Day July 1, and that a Canada Day 2023 Working Group be struck as follows:

    1. That a Canada Day 2023 Working Group be created in order to address Section 6A of the Work Plan in order to participate in the festivities on Canada Day; and,
    2. That the Working Group consist of three members of the Heritage Oshawa Committee; and,
    3. That Diane Stephen, Robert Bell and Patty Davis be appointed to the Working Group; and,
    4. That Diane Stephen be appointed as Chair of the Working Group.
